The Turtle Hospital Gets New Vet Rocket X-Ray System
“The Turtle Hospital is excited to announce the installation of a new generation digital x-ray
system, the most spectacular piece of equipment we have been able to afford in 28 years! X-rays are one of the most vital diagnostic tools for determining an animal’s health. High quality x-rays can help determine conditions such as pneumonia, hook ingestion, intestinal impaction, and internal tumors. Thanks to the popularity of our Educational Programs and generous private donations, The Turtle Hospital has acquired the latest high-resolution Digital X-Ray system from VetRocket. Our Educational Programs fund the turtle care at the Turtle Hospital. Educational Programs are offered 365 days a year, at the top of every hour, the first one starting at 9 a.m. and the last program starting at 4 p.m. Reservations are suggested and can be made by calling our Educational Center at 305-743-2552. VetRocket experts were on-site this week to install the state of the art equipment and to train our dedicated staff. The new system is already being put to good use, Gavin, a juvenile green sea turtle came to the hospital from Key West late yesterday. Crystal clear images were taken of Gavin with the new system
that helped staff to better diagnose and understand Gavin’s condition. The high quality of images taken with the new system improves our ability to diagnose and rehabilitate threatened and endangered sea turtles. We are using the most modern equipment to help save the most ancient of animals!”
